Does any one know why some regions that have string orchestras in the schools and have regional tryouts not have an all-region orchestra contest for the band instruments?
The Western side of the metroplex doesn't have all region orchestra tryouts, does it?
Check with Region 16 in Lubbock. For many years that region has had full orchestra All Region including winds and brass players from the local Middle/Junior Highs and High Schools. I used to live in that region and the All Region Orchestra concerts were always fantastic.
Is Region 16 an isolated region? Is there a pre-Area Orchestra audition or a contest that certifies auditioners to compete at the Area level against students who have taken the band track?
