How do you collect lesson payments?

I know other lesson teachers that mail statements.  Some take Paypal and even credit card payments.  Others seem to just go with the flow.

What is your preferred method? ...and Why?

I have most all my students parents email addresses and phone numbers.  I send an email invoice to the parents on a monthly basis and have had very good luck with that. If there happens to be a delay in getting payment....I send a reminder email the resort to the phone.

I do a combination.  Emails and statements by mail.  I prefer the e-mail obviously because it is more effecient and saves on postage and any possible long distance fees or additional cell phone charges.

I used to do statements by mail.  The price of a stamp is just ridiculous now.  I use e-mail as much as possible.  I take personal checks, but I prefer cash.

I like the idea of Paypal but I do not like the idea of losing some of the payment to Paypal.  The fees are a little high for me.

I like the idea of Paypal also.  I have already begun to accept Paypal payments.    Even though there are the fees at least the payment won't bounce like a personal check.

I use any method in which I can get paid.  I have noticed that I have had a few more deadbeat payers this year.

I do accept either paypal or credit card payments... Whichever my students prefer. I am also getting a lot of help from Music Teachers Helper, a software that handles my student billings and automatically send invoices to all my students. It also provides me with my own website where my students can log in and know how much they owe me.
