Why do some schools have beginning clarinets with baritones or flutes with trombones, etc....?
I sometimes see no logic here.

Very poor planning. Sometimes schedules can't always be blamed on the directors. School counselors in all of their wisdom generally are the ones who create the schedules, and we all know who is the priority when building the schedules.

That is it in a nutshell. Counselors, principles, band directors, etc...........

If the districts need to cut personnel in the future for budget reason, you could potentially see some more interesting combinations.
