Mine tend to be recordings with Larry Combs as a featured musician. What about yours?
I have always liked New York with Kurt Masur conducting. Sometimes there are some really interesting interpretations.

Thanks. I know there are a number of people who really do not like some of the things that Masur did, but I really do like what he has with New York. Redefined in a number of ways.
I remember when I saw Kurt Massur conducting the New York Symphony at Bass Hall. Excellent concert. The Mahler Symphony was wonderful and the brass quintet in between pieces was phenomenal. The level of musicianship was so high.
When did New York perform at Bass hall?
'99 if I recall correctly. I remember going back to Bass Hall later to here Fort Worth play Verdi's Requiem. No comparison.
I wish I could have seen New York when they were in TX. I have seen Cleveland and Pittsburg. Pittsburg was wonderful. I wish that I could visit my grandparents more often.

Some of my favorite recordings were conducted by Solti.

Excellent. I have some of those recordings also.
Christian Lindberg- "The Criminal Trombone"
"Stolen" pieces played by solo trombone; excellent arrangement of "Barber of Seville" Overture.
Not a huge fan of Lindberg myself, but I do like the Rossini Overture as well.
Best performance of Barber of Seville by trombones that I have ever heard or seen was by Prisma back in the early 90's.
I heard a great clarinet ensemble recording of The Barber of Seville years ago. Wish I could remember the name of the ensemble. It was fabulous.
